So how the heck do I get Mac OS X to use my serial ports? (I think I already know the answer:_"you don't.")
Please tell me I didn't just waste $31.50.

The answer is that you leave it on the interal setting. I did that and my best data 56k on my modem port works fine. The TR light is always on (which usualy means something is wrong with the serial port and i have to reboot) but it doen't seem to affect anything. I have sent feedback to apple about the misnomer in the settings.
Molz,
I just made the "switch", and I'm trying to connect my Best Data Ex. Serial Modem (56SPMAC)to my G3/233Mgtz PowerPC Desktop. Im running OS X over OS 9, and using the new NetZero ISP for Mac. I've tried every modem connection possible(printer port/modem port, different connection settings in OS X, etc.), but i still can't get connected. How did you connect your modem, and what are your connection settings in OS X (or in OS 9)?
