My Classic seems screwed and won't launch. Can I reinstall without touching anything else on my 10.2.6 disc?

Sure, boot from an OS 9 cd and do a clean install.

Just to clarify... I can reinstall OS 9 without deleting my OS X install on the same drive? Sorry if I'm being dense.

Yes. Clean Install with OS 9 just means it is going to install OS 9 into a new System Folder (the default is to update an existing System Folder). It won't do anything to the rest of your drive.
