Hi,
I have a 17" powerbook and am unable to enable the root user. I go into netinfo, authenticate, but enable root user is still greyed out. Am I missing something? Do I need to have developers tools installed. I was able to enable the root on my Ti powerbook, but not on the 17". Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I don't know why you cannot enable root using the NetInfo Manager, but perhaps you can still activate it using the terminal.

Enter "sudo passwd root", enter your normal administrator password and you will be asked for a new root password. Confirm it and the root user should be enabled.
