Hey everyone,
I’m just wondering if anyone has successfuly backed up email messages and folder groups using Apple’s Mail program.
I am looking to reinstall OSX and start fresh without OS9, Mail is just about the last thing left to backup.
thanks in advance_

~/Library/Mail
that directory has all your user's mbox files in it.
Backing up is easy enough. just copy them (or just the whole folder) to your CD or external drive or wherever and that should do it.

It doesn't work properly for me (at least) unless you also back up your Address book in ~/Library/Application Support

You can even just drag mailboxes from the mail window and it will copy the .mbox to wherever you drag it to.

Whoa! great. I have always tried draging messages but never folders.
Is there a way of putting the messages in mbox back into mail, or can they be viewed in any form?
