First how can I clear out all the "learned" words? I'm dislexic and have a habit of hitting the wrong button. So I have a bunch of mispelled words that the spell checker in OS X has "learned". I need to fix this.

Second:

I don't know what I installed, can somebody please tell me? In Jaguar when I right click on any underlined word (mispelled) it shows alternative spellings in the contexual menu. Much like the spellchecker in Microsoft Windows. This feature is killer. How come Apple doesn't have this outta the box? Most times words are a simply misspelling and the last thing I want to do is open a dialog box when it could be fixed quickly.

What application did I install?

You didn't install anything - this is built-in to OS X and any cocoa application can get it for free.

All you need to do is turn on "check spelling as you type" in the Edit menu of your favorite cocoa apps, and the red underlining will appear...

You *should* be able to go into ~/library/preferences/spelling and change the misspelled words, which are listed in a text file called "en." Just drag it to text-edit. Worst-case scenario, you delete that file.

As for the application you installed, it's OS X.
