[Busemann]

This has happened to me more or less frequently recently. The menubar (where the clock and volume settings is) crashes and the spinning disc cursor appear when i roll the mouse over it. Anyone know how to restart it without logging out and in again?

Go into Process Viewer and force quit the process "SystemUIServer." (Or you can just kill it if you're familiar with the command line; either way.)

Tried it, but nothing happened Both in Process viewer and terminal (kill -9 etc..)

Thats weird. Does it quit though when you do kill -9?

Try getting rid of any docklings you have and
menu extras and see if that helps.

kill -9 didn't quit it either, but what's weird is that it is only the apple menu-extras that has hung - not the only other 3rd party, SE clicker.

top says that 2 processes are stuck, which got to be the two systemUIservices that show in process viewer.

Guess its re-logging in for me *sigh*

(OS X has spoilt me )
