hi all,

is there any way to create an AppleScript droplet that processes a file in Terminal when u drag n drop onto it?

i'm always typing 'mplayer [space]' followed by dragging a file that i wanna play into the Terminal window and then hitting ENTER.

hoping to make this easier by dropping the file onto an app in the dock to do the same thing... can anyone help? thanks a mill!

could just use the Mplayer OS X GUI? Just drag the file onto that and it'll play...
I free'd my mind... now it won't come back.

thing is that the lastest binary of Mplayer is not distributed along with the GUI player.

You could use X11 extension it can bind
files with unix apps. I think you can
make an apples script to do what you
asked. I used to have an apple script
that would let me open a folder in the
terminal when you dragged something on it.

It would do cd filename you want mplayer
filename. I will try to find the script
and modify it.

The script was quite large though...
