I recently bought a Sony LCD monitor and it hooked directly to my old G4 533 with no adaptor needed. Going to the Monitor Preference Panel I found I had about 20 resolution choices. Today I bought a new G4 1.25 GHz and had to use an adaptor, which came with the new G4, to connect the Sony LCD. Going to the Monitor Preference Panel on the new G4 I have only 4 resolution choices.

I'm wondering why the change to needing a adaptor on the newer machine and why the lack of resolution choices.

Thanks

Doug

I have never had that issue my self as I've only owned all in one macs like iMac and iBooks. But I wonder if Swichres can over run the system resolution options. If I remember correctly i could do it in os 9 with this application..
