Hi,

I have a MDD PM G4 Dual 867,768 Ram,GeForce4MX card, OSX 10.2.6. Just started using a dual monitor set up today, running 2560x1024 with a DVI and a ADC->DVI. I'm experiencing a system crash/freeze when I'm using safari 1.0.

When I drag a browser window across the monitors, and reach the point where the cursor goes between the monitors, the cursor disappears, and then the system locks up. The caps lock can still toggle on my keyboard, but I cannot force quit or do anything with the keyboard or mouse. It already happened to me twice today. Has anyone experience this issue, or have any suggestions? I don't know if this problem is limited to safari, but so far that's the only app that caused the lock up.

Thanks so much for your help!

Well... I'm not gonna kid you... I can't help... but what WILL help other users to diagnose your problem might be:

- Video card configuration:

Is it one card or two... what brand or brands AGP...? PCI...? onboard GrfxMem...? that kind of stuff.

Some cards (if you're running two) may not work well together. I had a compatability issue with mine in 10.1 which got resolved in 10.2. I now run a 3-Monitor setup with absolutely no problems. Give more details on the vid hardware.

Hope it will help. Sorry you are experiencing issues.

No idea what to say about the space between monitors.. have you checked your arrangement prefs or tried to change it?

When your computer freezes like that you can try to unfreeze it by killing the window manager process (or loginwindow) through ssh if you have another computer handy.

Thanks for the reply guys..

I'm running a single Nvidia Geforce 4MX card, the one that came with my powermac. It has one ADC port and one DVI port.

I'll try to play around with the arrangement and see if it resolves the problem. Currently I have my menu bar on the right side.

any other suggestions?
