Hey Guys, I talked to a admin of a Carracho server last night that was hosting 7B21. He said he was an Apple phone tech support guy in Teir 1 or something. Anyway he said that a non-beta version of Panther was passed around the office, but then locked up away somewhere. He sounded like he knew what he was talking about, but who knows. I dont see why Apple would release 7B21 to developers and then a few days later internally seed the final.

Neg.
Word around the campfire is that builds started to suck tremendously soon after 7B21, and haven't been straightened out yet.
Also, AppleCare's "tier 1" people know as much about Panther as people who do not work for Apple do.

1. No credibility
2. He runs a carracho server. He's either stupid, or wants to get fired.
3. He has no clue
4. It won't be out before december. You can take that to the bank.

Tier 1 is the lowest tier of tech support. They'd seed a Final Candidate build of Panther to developers before declaring it Golden Master and distributing it to tech support.
Plus, the Golden Rule is that everyone on Carracho works for Apple and none of them know what they're talking about.

I'm guessing autumn (September-October), personally. All the Apple Emps I've talked to say "before the end of the year" does not mean December 31, and they all felt that autumn (northern hemisphere autumn, that is) was the most likely target.

Actually, in my experience, 7B21 is a less finished product than WWDC Preview.
Printing is broken for one (Epson SC740 here), some apps. are unstable(TextEdit working in simple text) ... they got some things right, but there still a long way to go before it gets to GM.
