Has Apple actually explained how permissions regularly get all screwed up? For example, I am repairing permissions on two different volumes now and there are screens and screens of bad permissions scrolling by. Aren't permissions by design supposed to prevent unauthorized changes to files? If so, what process is it that can change the permissions on system files without root access? I have root disabled on all my machines, but I do use an admin account quite frequently (although I don't see how I could have inadvertently changed permissions on so many files under /System/*.

Anyway, is noone else concerned about this rogue-permission swapping?

It's probably caused by third-party apps installers which ask for admin password to install the softwares and do inappropriate things with permissions... It's definitely a bad thing.
