.Mac duplicates my email!

When I check my POP email account through .Mac, when I get home and check my email with MAIL app, I get duplicate copies of every email I have left on the server in my Inbox. I want to leave email that I check through .Mac on the server, so that I can save it when I get home to my Mail app. I just don't want duplicates.
