Hi,

I would like to install the following app on my Mac:

http://fink.sourceforge.net/pdb/package.php/gpsdrive

however I'm not really au fait with Fink.

I have installed Fink, and Apple's X11.

However Fink claims that GPSDrive does not exist.

As Per the instructions on Fink's site I have edited my Fink.conf file so that it uses unstable packages.

However when I try:

install GPSDrive
sudo /sw/bin/fink install GPSDrive
Information about 2311 packages read in 1 seconds.

I get:


Failed: no package found for specification 'GPSDrive'!

Am I being stupid? Am I doing something wrong?

Try using Fink Commander, it makes things easier.

You can set the unstable/stable package thing via preferences which is easier than changing your fink.conf directly, and you can be more confident that it's been done correctly.

I am - and I can see other unstable packages, but GPSDrive doesn't seem to be in the DB at all.


Can anyone else see it?

Ah - OK my novice fink skills are showing - I had to update fink.
