Hey all,

Anyone remember what Jaguar's criteria is for the order in which it mounts volumes on the desktop? I was thinking it still had something to do with available space, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I have two drives, one split into two partitions. Of those three volumes, they used to be listed in this order:

Disk 1, Partition 1 (3 GB available)
Disk 2 (6 GB available)
Disk 1, Partition 2 (45 GB available)

I had to recently swap out Disk 2 for a like model and now it appears last for some reason. Available space is 6 GB.

Any ideas?

The first volume is always your startup volume. As for the rest, I always thought it was alphabetical, but I'm not sure on that.

Thanks, Art. Alphabetical is definitely not the case. The original order on the desktop was:

Mac OS X
Work
Misc

Since I swapped my Work drive, it now appears last. Weird...

Will it not just be the order the partitions exist on the disk with startup mounted first?
