How do i install OS 9 in my Imac that now runs OSX

It won't let you install OS9 now as a newer OS is already there (OSX), at least I believe this to be true. Open up your software restore disk (comes with you mac). Somewhere in there is an image(s) of a full OS9 install. Copy the data from this disk image to a new folder on your HD called OS9 or the like. Then update to the newest version of OS9. Ask someone else for the folder the image is in I don't remember. I abandoned that piece of sh1t OS9 years ago.

That's part true. It won't let you install until you select Clean Install. The defualt behavior of the OS 9 installer is to update the existing system. Clean Install installs a new, separate OS 9 system folder instead of updating the existing.

If your hard drive was initialized without having OS 9 drivers installed, OS 9 wont even see the hard drive. You will have to reinitialize with Drive Utility / Drive Setup and check on "install OS 9 drivers" if this happens.
