I'm doing a qmail install as part of a final project for my computer course. It's on an internal test network consisting of 2 linux servers, a few windows servers, and a ton of windows workstations. I've gotten qmail installed and configured on the linux server yet I am unable to log into to it thru Outlook on any other account other than postmaster. I get the following errors:

- Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Porrible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account 'mail.testnetwork.com',Server: 'mail.testnetwork.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number 0x800CCC0F
- Unable to logon to the server using Secure Password Authentication. Account 'mail.testnetwork.com', Server: 'mail.testnetwork.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR authorization first', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18

Any help would be immensely appreciated.

Interesting. Can Outlook (!=Outlook Express) use SMTP POP IMAP over SSL? I've never tried but I didn't Google too hard for a config example either. Anything you could provide me with would be useful.

So far it almost looks like an error with qmail. I've followed the instructions for using it on RedHat9 but I think there must have been an error in there somewhere. I know there was the odd compiling error since RH9 has a few changes over the old version.
