wtf is this?

0 kernel_tas 32.7% 16:22.19 30 0 - - - 74.8M 647M


this thing eats up as much memory as it can. anywhere from 30-100%. what is this thing? i installed a d-link card, which it doesnt recognize of course, and now this thing comes up. i also installed the new security update. please helP!

That's the kernel. It is normal.

I take that back. The kernel_task normally doesn't consume that much cpu. I was thinking of the idle_task. Try removing the card.

card removed. everything back to normal. anyone have any clue as to what caused this? i ran the newest drivers, but i still couldnt see the card in os x....

anyone know what this could be? is anyone using this d-link card succesfully in jag? is there another PCI NIC that will work?

It's probably the kernel trying to communicate with it, and failing.
