Quicktime and iMovie?

	Ok so I transfered some files over to my computer frommy g/f's and now when i play some of them they only play the first 30 seconds or so then thye just stop. i can click the bar back right before they end then they move along. whats happening here? Second, How come when i import quicktime clips into iMovie, the sound doesnt come with it? Thanks for any light she don this problem.
