Please give feeback to Apple on this, feel free to copy & paste the feedback I gave below:

FTP in OS X 10.3 Build 7B44

Even if you authenticate to an FTP server the user cannot copy files to it. What gives? How is it that the FTP in Windows is horrible, and even on the Mac OS X the built in FTP sucks. What's wrong? Shouldn't I expect better than Windows quality? Come-on guys don't jerk us around, MAKE FTP in the FINDER as good as it should be!

It's a known issue. Apple knows it
Finder.app doesn't upload files.

However, the CLI ftp is all good... but I don't think you like that idea
So, there is "Cyberduck" [new version came out a few days ago]. It's free, and pretty nice.

WOW this one really bugs me.

YOU MEAN IT STILL DOESN"T WORK IN 10.3?!?!?!?!

dayuum. I was really getting P.Oed about this as apple had promised it would work in 10.2 and here they are at the final update it will get before they ditch it.. it STILL isn't fixed.. and they really owe people for that.

However.. 10.3 still has the problem? This is a MAJOR blow to me.. I was hoping by now they'd have fixed it.

I guess I'll be buying transmit afterall.

Whoa. Okay, it's NOT final status yet to begin with...so, I would bet my horses on it being working by the final GM release, I wouldn't go being all "P.Oed" at Apple until you have seen the final thing. If at that point it's not working, by all means....raise holy hell!

Yeah but they did this last time, judging by their development cycle I'd say it's a pretty safe bet they will ignore the upload feature, just like the last revision of the OS.

I just don't get it, I want to be able to save a file to FTP sometimes with File>Save intergration, but since I can't write to FTP I just can't do this.

Unbelievable at this stage.

There's still nowhere near enough resources in the Finder team is there? Apple don't seem to realise its importance/potential.

This issue was addressed slightly in the current issue of MacAddit
(FTP comparisions).

It would appear as if they dont want to piss off the other developers who create FTP programs like Transmit and Fetch. I suppose the grey line they drew with making a solid FTP ability in the OS was the ability to transfer from, but not to, so the developers can make a little dough.

They should just bundle Cyberduck, I downloaded it and I think it will be my only client.
