ok this is the situation.. at home i have mac os 9.. and at work i have mac os x.. i have an external 60 gig usb i would like to use to transfer work projects between home and work..

the problem i encounter is when i formate the hd at home on my mac os 9.. the hard disk will not mount on os x.. and after i go into os x utillties and verify/repair the usb hard disk.. the usb will mount on os x but then when i try to moount the usb at home... the hard disk will not mount.. what should i do?? what format should i format usb hard disk in????

A suggestion: Change OS 9 to OS X at your home. It may be hassle but once you change from OS9 to OS X things will go in your way from home to work.

negative the one at home is a 266 g3 i dont think it have the juice to handle os x..

When you erase and reformat in OS X are you making sure that you are installing the OS 9 drivers? I assume you are using Disk Utility to do this? If not, you should.

All of your hard disks should be formatted HFS+. There's no good reason here to be using anything else.
