So my comp was crashing every every 5 minutes consistently after logging in.

I pulled my external Firewire Hard Drive and now I'm crash free.
Now I checked the panic.log but I can't make heads or tails of it.

So if someone here can it would be greatly appreciated.

yup, it's probably screwing with your system somehow, Norton is (in)famous for being an OS killer. i've never installed it on the Mac, but on my PC it just destroyed it. Try de-installing it, and see if that helps.

LOL! Sorry but the naivete of that statement got to me. I accidentally installed the Norton System Works
which from this point will be referred to as The Crap, ontu my machine. I installed The Crap because my system was having file system problems. Eventually I found the cause of the problem and wanted The Crap gone since I realized my heinous error. well, the uninstaller didn't do it completely. Thier were parts of the crap still lodged in my system since when I booted a warning panel talking about corrupt extensions was glaring at me. The panel was from The Crap. So I ran the uninstaller again, and yet again The Crap still stayed.

So I got my OS X disk, wiped the HD and installed X anew to get The Crap off m HD. Moral of the story, NEVER LET NORTON LIVE ON YOUR HD. Using it from the CD is fine, but never install it, EVER.

I would like to ammend this by saying that System Works 2.0 is crap to install. However, System Works 3.0 appears to have fixed all of these issues. As a tech, I use this on a daily basis without problems. If anyone has complaints about 3.0, I would like to hear them.

Detrius,

I hope you are right for their sake. Norton has caused such devastating problems for soooo long (years) that it is going to take a lot for anyone in the OS X community to have any trust at all in their products.
