Sorry if this is way old news, but I thought it was interesting. I guess it just never occurred to me to "get info" while in an Open/Save dialog before. It's sort of an abbreviated version of a regular Get Info window, and unlike the regular, you can change the filename while in it.

What else is lurking in the OS X GUI?

Is that 7B49? Hey, those checkboxes are sunken. Nice. And the buttons are back to the way they were in Jaguar (with the different lighting). They almost look sunken, too. Now Apple needs to fix or change those damn stoplight widgets. Very cool, thoug. Thanks for the pic.

You can change the name in the regular Get Info window too. It's under the Name & Extension section.

Funny the subtle differences between the two, though.

Yeah. That is what I would like to know, too. I just tried it with the Cmd-I shortcut and that doesn't work.

How DID you do it?

Jeezus, I'm such an *diot... That's got to be a feature of Default Folder X that I never knew about.

apple+i doesn't do anything on my kid's iMac, without Default Folder installed.

Sorry about all the hubbub.
