my network was down.
out of CD's
needed to desperately get my work out my G4.
suddenly my sis appears with a toshiba satellite, I look inside her bag, a toshiba external USB floppy drive.
I hadn't used floppies since 1999 or so, but WTF I needed to get my work out.
So I plug the damn thing into the USB port, the Mac starts thinking ... then it stops.
So I put a floppy in, and to my surprise, it mounted !
There I was using a totally obsolete technology, with a PC floppy drive, on an interface designed by Intel, on a system based on UNIX ... and I was happy !
no drivers, no updates, just good-'ol-Mac-style PnP
It saved my day anyway.
thx apple for that.
