Support for Prolific PL2303 USB-serial chipset?

	Would somebody with a late build of Panther be kind enough to look in the System/Extensions and see if there is any indication of support for this very common USB-Serial chipset from Prolific. The latest Prolific drivers (ProlificUSBSerialOSX1.0.6.pkg) seem broken under 10.2.6 so I cannot get my APC UPS working with my Mac--a really worrying situation with weekly lightning and thunderstorms this year.
