did anyone else notice how apple seems to have locked itself in a somewhat stupid circle when it comes to terminal.app and transparent windows? here a rough rundown:
stage 1 (puma, iirc): we had that funny text ghosting issue, where you would see "frozen" shadow masks from lines of text in the window when scrolling around in a (semi-)transparent window.
stage 2 (jaguar): apple solved the issue by simply switching off all text shadows.
stage 3 (earlier panther betas): text shadows were enabled again, and this time the shadows also would perfectly scroll along with the text contents... which made scrolling kinda laggy, however everything looked proper.
stage 4 (panther ~7b49): apple apparently tried to speed up the scrolling again, and now guess what happened: the text ghosting issue (-> see stage 1) came back.
stage 5: ??? any changes in more recent builds than 7b49? then please fill us in...
