Hello people!

I'm trying to install Mandrake Linux 9.1 besides Mac OS X on my eMac. No luck so far. Anyone have any experience with this?

I got the installer to run, but I don't know how to specify a drive to install on. I don't want it trashing my internal HD, you see...

Try http://www.mandrakelinux.com/en/demos/PPC/Install/

it is for 8.2 but it should be pretty much the same. Also look in the /doc directory on the first install CD.

Thanks, but I still don't get how to choose an external drive for installation.

I may be wrong about this but I don't think any of the Linux-PPC distros support booting off of an external firewire or usb drive.
