Same thing started happening on my iMac. Some applications that previously worked won't start anymore:

Sep 8 19:45:57 iMac WindowServer[515]: ERROR! execle(/Applications/Utilities/_Others/Res24OSXDemo/Resorcerer 2.4.1) returned, err=22

What is this mysterious err=22 ??


I tried deleting the windowserver plist prefences files, and someone suggested reinstalling the video drivers.

Well the ATI update driver from Oct 2002 is one of the apps I can't launch!!

Safari, Mail.app work fine.

Any ideas?

Try deleting all the various cache files (/Library/Caches, ~/Library/Caches) and rebooting.
If that doesn't help, boot up from you OS X installer CD and run Disk Utility. If things still don't work right, consider reinstalling OS X.
