Our company Book Keeper uses a dot matrix printer to print company cheques (the paper is on a roll of specially printed paper... pulled through the printer by tractor feed - not traction feed).

MYOB running on Mac OS 9 prints out cheques to the dot-matrix printer. The printer driver is the old Mac ImageWriter driver. Can I get a dot-matrix printer driver for Mac OS 10?

The printer is a Seikosha SP-2400AP printer with a serial printer connection (the kind of connection you might find on a StyleWirter (remember them?) I have a USB-Serial adapter... all I need is a printer driver.

Yes you can, with this proviso. The printer has to have an appletalk card in it and you need a 'protocol converter' such as the asanter print or similar device. These are the same requirements if you want to put an Appletalk imagewriter on an ethertalk network in OS 8 or 9,

Given this what you now need are the drivers. In OS X 2.x CUPS is supported [Common Unix Printing System]. Go to their site and install them. You need the ESP ghostscript package and the foomatic Imagewriter driver package. Installing these will give you drivers for the Imagewriter I, II and LQ. Install and, as my teenage daughters were fond of saying, You are good to go.
