Hey All, Here's a bonehead question for ya!
I continue to add music to my I-Tunes Library, however, my IPOD is only 20 G. It will no longer update. I can't figure out how to delete stuff off the IPOD to add the newer stuff. I have some music I don't ever listen to, so I want it off my IPOD. Second question. What is a good way to move my music around? I've been going through the "GO" command and moving folders out of the I Tunes Library folder into the general Music folder. Will this take it out of the library for good so I can add to the IPOD.
I know, I've had the two for 5 months.....I should be an expert by now.

iTunes and iPod. Not to be a stickler but there is no other way of spelling them. Same with Mac...its not spelled MAC for various reasons.
If you want to take songs out of the library, just select them within iTunes and delete them. If it asks if you want to delete the song as well, you can opt to do so as well, unless you just want the song out of the library. After deleting songs from the library, there is an option in the menu to update iPod, which will update the iPod with the current library you have chosen.

you don't really want to move music out of your library by hand.
If you go to the iPod preferences (choose the ipod from the list of "Sources" on the left in iTunes - then press the button at the bottom of the screen that looks like an ipod)
then choose not to sync all music - you can choose to sync just check songs, or selected playlists

I have iTunes only sync checked songs and I uncheck all those I don't like. Any unchecked songs will be deleted from the iPod in the next automatic sync.

Here's what I do:
I have some smart playlists set up. I have my iPod set to sync all my 4 and 5-star rated songs, and 600 random songs rated 3 stars or less. Then, every week or so, I go into the <3 playlist, select all, hit delete, and it instantly and automatically refills with a different group of 600 random songs. Then, I sync my iPod.

This is what I do. I have a smart play list that has a bunch of rules that say: If the name has this artist, or this artist, etc, don't put it on this playlist. Its got a bunch of crap that my wife wants on there. Country music and whatnot.
For me this works pretty well, since, I mostly want to filter by things like album or artist.
