I am occasionally getting weird multiple
thin green colored lines all over my OSX 10.2.6 desktop
- disappears on a reboot.

Anyone experience anything like this -
Know which is the right pill to remedy it ?

Unfortunately as I remember from previous posts this is a problem on your powerbook(I'm assuming you have a powerbook cause the same problem was stated before on a powerbook also). And to be exact its a graphics card failure. So I guess you have to check your machine on an apple service
