I've been messing around trying to stick my Users folder on the 2nd partition I created. So far, I've had mixed results, but that's a topic for another post
There's directory called /Data/Users/mike. This is the regular, no-admin-rights user I created to test things out a bit. I'm now trying to erase it -- while logged in with the administrator account -- by dragging it to the trash and I'm getting the message "The operation could not be completed because you do not own this item". When I try to access the subfolders (for instance, the Pictures subfolder) on /Data/Users/mike I'm told "The folder "Pictures" could not be opened because you do not have sufficient access privileges."
If I'm not the administrator, than who the hell is? Maybe it's that Steve Jobs guy. I hear he's a bit of a control freak.
Seriously, though, am I doing something wrong?

"admin" isn't the same as "root"
Same problem I'm having.
Try logging in a 'root" see what happens.

Just delete the 'mike' account in Accounts, under System Preferences. That will compress mike's home folder, and make you the owner of it so you can delete it.
Of course, you could also Get Info and make yourself the owner, but it would be better to delete the account if you're going to delete the user folder.

Never login as root if you can help it. Use "sudo" from the command line.

Or make yourself the owner using Get Info.

Or, like I said, just delete the account in Accounts, which will make you the owner automatically.
