how to get fink to install gaim 0.68?

i let fink use the unstable directory, and it still installs gaim .64. any ideas how to make it install .68? it says .68 is support in current and unstable

I believe you just need to make sure that unstable/main and unstable/crypto come before stable/main and stable/crypto in your fink.conf trees listing.
Otherwise just move the .64 listing of gaim out of the fink folder, type 'fink scanpackages' and then try reinstalling it.
I usually can get fink to install beyond what's in the 'unstable' tree by changing version numbers within the .info files... just be warned that some stuff is only at a set version (although older than current) for a reason.

try fink update before trying your install and fink should update's it's local list of available packages ...
