Hi, I am trying to set up a new user account for my 6-year-old so he can play some games on my computer running 10.2.6. I have added him as a new user, assigned what he can do/not do through "Capabilities." However, when we logged in to his account, insert a game CD and click on it, we get "the operation could not be completed because you do not have enough access privileges." Any suggestion/advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hmm. Just a lousy first guess, but is the program in the applications folder limited to just you?
I mean that when you installed the game, did you install it under your user? My guess, and I may be wrong, is that the game may be limited to you as the user. Maybe try installing the game under his account and going from there.
Like most games, I am guessing you need to install the app then you need the CD to run it.
This is a shot in the dark, but I hope that helps.

Thanks BTP, I tried installing the software in his logged in account, but got the same message.

Was the game software already installed when you gave him rights to the various apps? if not, then you need to install the game as an Admin and give him rights to it.
However, if the game is completely self-contained on the CD my guess would be that the game is calling some OS component or helper app when it launches and it does not have rights to that component. Try running the game as an Admin with the Process Viewer app running. You should be able to observe what else launches or increases CPU usage when the game app launches.
Good Luck!

Hmm. On second thought, then maybe something in the capabilities setting is causing a problem. dcmacdaddy's idea sounds good too.
You could test my latest suggestion, by turning off everything that you turned on in capabilities. If it works, then it is a capabilities setting. If not, I'll keep thinking.
Last resort, make a brand new user. Install the game. See if it works. if it does, that's your boy's new account.
