thing??? I can't create a root user anymore and i am not able to login as root. i don't have my original OSX startup cd here and when i repair priviliges with my local user with admin priviliges i get on each problem the error can't repair priviliges cause you don't have the privilige to do that. :-(

i could do it like sudo repairPriviliges but for that i need the command. anybody have a hint???

thanks beta

Until someone posts with the correct command line to do it, have you tried running Disk Utility using Pseudo?

that is an example of the disk utility

Permissions not corrected on ./Library/Perl, reason Operation not permitted
Group differs on ./Library, should be 80, group is 0
Permissions differ on ./Library, should be drwxrwxr-x , they are drwxr-xr-x
Owner and group not corrected on ./Library, reason Operation not permitted
Permissions not corrected on ./Library, reason Operation not permitted

1) Boot to single user mode
2) at the prompt, type "mount -uw /"
3) when that's done type "systemStarter"
4) when that's done type "diskutil repairPermissions /"

That's should do it.

In single-user mode, you should fsck before doing mount -uw / .

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!
