I'd like to create a guest account. More specifically, I'd like to create a guest account in OS X 10.3 that can be used with fast user switching.

The only problem is that the Account system panel won't let choose the short name "guest" (it's somehow reserved). Now there is a guest group on the system but no "guest" user and I'd really like to have the short name for the account be "guest". Is there anyway to force the name "guest"? Should I not try to?

I thought about adding the name through NetInfo Manager but wanted to post here for advice first. If I can add it through NetInfo, what would be a recommended uid, etc?

Enter the short name as "Guest", with a capital 'G'.
