I am getting runover by hundreds of emails from one of the microsoft worms. It must be on a PC where the user has my email address. I have tried several ways to get rid of these emails and attachments (mostly over 150k in size) with no luck.
The from field in the emails is called sender which is listed as Unknown. But if I filter from and Unknown it does not work.
Is there any way I can set up a rule to remove all attachments over say 50K and the associated emails.
Any other thoughts.......
tia.......Rich

I thought about throwing up a rule on Microsoft... but I can't really just dump all things about Microsoft (I work in software).
Sooo, I just kept "Junk"ing them... and now its effectively capturing more than 95% of them... maybe even higher as I haven't had one slip through this afternoon or evening (but I just deleted over 50 out of my Junk box).
I love Mail!

I filtered for message content "attached file for details" and it worked 100% for the SoBig virus.
These stopped for me about two weeks ago.
You can prompt for notification over a certain size and then delete the email or accept it. Set this in the Accounts Advanced tab in Preferences for mail.app

Yes, but to mark them as junk, I have to let them through and that mean downloaded all 400 or so 150k attachments which I really do not want to do.

I have been doing that but that does not allow Mail to treat them as junk. Or if it does, it is not working cause they just keep coming.
As of now, I have my ISP removing all email over 20k. That helps with the numbers but I am still not getting them marked as junk so I can get all mail and have the offending emails and attachments marked as junk so Mail will do the work.
Least I think I have this right???

Scroll down a ways on this page. There is a script that you can use in mail that will remove these for you.
The info link from Stone Design looks easier and comes with a very handy image.
