Hi

Need a little help here, I would like to know if someone out there has the same problem with the new OS as I do...

Since I updated the OS, when watching DVDs, they do not fill the screen anymore but rather become quite small and a lot and I mean a lot of black bars are around the picture...

Please help...

I know what he's talking about and frankly it's pissed me off a little too. the last update to the DVD player has proven to be a pain for watching certain movies, which now don't fill the entire screen but only 1024 pixels of it, instead of the full 1152 pixels my Powerbook G4 667 has (hardly an old machine)

It's not a bug, its a feature apparently. basically the standard letterbox bars are present, but in addition, are two black bars on either side making up the pixels from 1024 - 1152, so the movie looks like its in a small box in the centre of the screen.

It's incredibly annoying and for the most part has ruined the DVD experience on my powerbook for me.

(well right now Panther's ruined the DVD Experience on my Powerbook for me, but there was a time when this took first prize)

Aahh yes, sorry to hear you too are suffering, glad to knwo I am not the only one. This could help change the new update... If Apple looks at our whining, perhaps they will fix this in the new 10.2.8.(1) or will it be 10.2.9?

Anyway, let me know if you find a work around ok?

Thanks...
