Don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but after upgrading, I get very short random bursts of noise/static when listening to music.
This didn't happen in 10.2.6 (despite the well documented sound balence prob) and I've tried restarting, checking sound balence and trying 2 different outputs (apple pro speakers and headphone out).
Any ideas?
System is:
iMac 17'' G4 800, 768mb RAM, Superdrive, Logitech MX 700 mouse, Lacie FW 120gb.
OS X 10.2.8
Cheers

I am also getting those noises sometimes, and I think they are related to high CPU usage. It seems the sound driver get messed up very badly in the dreaded 10.2.8 under heavy load.
BTW, using a PowerBook G4 12" Rev. A.

Yep!
I had this issue too. It was so ****ing annoying that I downgraded to 10.2.6 today (only took like 1 hour to completely migrate to 10.2 and download 260mb of updates).

But what about our new super-fast (please nobody say snappy) minimising to the dock??
Ok, gonna sound like such a stupid question, but what's the best way to downgrade from 10.2.8 to 10.2.6?

Does this happen to any of you anymore with the rerelease of 10.2.8? I still haven't used iTunes since installing the Ethernet/battery update (I never did go back to 10.2.6). If I find that it still does, I think I'll still go back eventually (or just hold out for 10.3)...

No issues here on 10.2.8 (G5) build 6S90.

I have no more sound on my iBook (Tangerine Rev.B). The built-in audio controller disappeared from the sound preference pane.
I'll restart now to see if that solve it.

The sound is back. A restart fixed it.

Thanks for checking! A second witness always helps for these things.

Hrm...I just noticed a really bad crackle similar to the pops I was getting before (I also got a few of the bad crackles before the patch)...maybe it's not fixed for me. Oh well. I'll probably just wait.
Edit: aaaand another one. :/
