Or really any FTP's that matter. On my iMac, it worked fine but I just can't get through to FTP's on my G5. I set my proxies for 8080, but when I come back 20 minutes later, they aren't even checked! Argh!

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Are you allowing ftp through the OSX firewall?

try to disable Firewall and see how that goes..

are u on airport? try direct connection also if u are using airport

if your on a network try a direct connection also

Also, try connecting to another machine on the network (if you have two macs, turn FTP on on one of them and try to connect to it). For that matter, try to connect to your own machine.

Step by step it should be..
1) Your own machine
2) Another machine on the network
3) An outside server
