So 10.3 has supposedly gone gold but Apple has always said 'by the end of the year'. Let's give them a show of confidence so they release it to eager beavers.

for what, Zimphire?

I'm going to upgrade the day it comes out. Exposé is well worth the price tag itself.

Exposé is a nice feature, but there is no way that one feature is worth US$129. That's a lot of cash...

You have no choice but to wait. GM or not, it isn't released yet. So that means you can't buy it yet. Unless Bit Torrent and Carracho etc now do Family Pack download deals?

- RELEASE IT NOW!!!
- RELEASE IT NOW!!! (but I'm willing to wait until it's more bug free)
- The Sooner the better... no big deal
- I'm getting it... but will wait to see what others think first.

Rooney! Pardon my French....

10.3 looks good, even though I have had limited experience with it, I'll be buying it.

Do you think there was more hype for 10.2 or more hype for 10.3 this time around? Are YOU more excited this time around?

I want Panther, and I want it now!!!

I’ve never wanted an OS so bad before, until I used Aqua (and a poor experience that was). I want Panther NOW!!!

APPLE you better give me Panther, or else!

Or else, I’ll poison your seeds and deform your fruits.

I'm personally quite happy with 10.2 because it does everything I need to and my hardware is up to date. Do I need 10.3? That's a difficult question to answer. Expose (I'm don't care about the accent) is cool but I think I can multitask faster than pressing a few buttons. I don't use multiple users on my machine either so spinning cubes aren't going to help me.

But I am going to buy it. Why? I wouldn't mind better multi-threading for one thing. The current Finder annoys me. And even though the interface is fast enough I certainly wouldn't mind it being as snappy as the Windows 2000 box I was used to using several years ago. It's not nice to go from snappiness to spinning wheels. We should have that already in 10.2 but apparently Apple wasn't able to deliver and another costly upgrade is in order. So I guess I'm upgrading for general usability improvements, the iApps and not for the gimmicks.

I felt more pressure to upgrade to Jaguar than I do Panther. It just seemed more exciting and a number of things were coming which were "Jaguar only". I'm not feeling much excitement over Panther among fellow Mac users.

I hate the idea of a metal Finder. I think the "new" AQUA sucks. Expose isn't anything I need or would really use--it's just a KEWL DUDE demo.

I don't need the wireless or other do-dad changes. Hell, the "new" Finder doesn't even fix the threading. As in a lack there-of. This doesn't seem like a decent *consumer* update.

Why, oh why, should I get Panther at $130?

Last year I found myself sucked into Jaguar, .Mac, QuickTime Pro and the MPEG2 secret decoder ring. Did I forget to mention the iMac was new last year as well?

This year, I'm not renewing the useless .Mac. And I'm not excited by Panther.

The pressure of switching from 6 to 7 to 8 to 9 and to X have all been gut wrenching!!

But I'm quite 'cool' about Panther. I'll upgrade, sure, but I'll check here first for feedback before installing.

Anyway, I'm about to take delivery of a new iMac and there's bound to be some kind of concession on the purchase price?

Cheers from cool, windy UK.
