Uh, in my software update panel it does not show up. Does this mean I should NOT install the update on my G5? I mean I look and look but nothing, no 10.2.8 update for the G5 is out there...

Anyone out there with a G5 1.8 (10.2.8)?????

I mean it simply does not come up in my software update... I am not too happy installing this if it might be causing problems...

But I have a problem where I sometimes start up by pressing the Apple Studio Display button and then neither mouse or keyboard works... Need to do a hard reboot. Something I hope they have fixed in this version of OS, but I doubt it... Anyone else with this odd problem?

Also some applications I have unstuffed simply don't want to launch...

It doesn't seem to be showing up in Software Update yet. The 10.2.8 (G5) update details are available from http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25576.

The download link is at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120248

The standard 10.2.8 update should not be installed on a G5, and the G5 update should not be installed on a non-G5 machine.

Thanks for your reply, I might want to hang around here and see how this 10.2.8 is working out for the other G5 users. But the problems I have are annoying to say the least...

So far it fixed my Firewire problems on my Dual G5.

Oh but wait what kind of Firewire problems did you have in the first place? What did it do?

The iSight did not work with 10.2.7. Now it does.

Also you could lose bluetooth and firewire waking from sleep.

That is odd, my iSight worked just fine with my G5 1.8 10.2.7...

Ii can never figure out why two computers that are 100% the same acts differently...

Anyway, hope I figure out soon what is wrong with mine...

But mostly I am waiting for Panther...

Thanks for your reply

Did you have a Dual? Did it work after coming out of sleep?

Nope I have a 1.8 G5... Please tell me precisely how it worked. So I can test it on mine...

Have you never had any problems where you start up your machine by pressing the ON button on your screen and the keyboard and mouse are dead?

The iSight just didn't work, just that simple for me. Lots of other people on the Apple forums with the same problem. 10.2.8 it does work.

No keyboard freezing for me. Do you have it plugged into your monitor? I heard some people were having problems if it was.

Yup, I sure have it plugged into my monitor... What is the work around for that?

But you are right that I have it in my screen...

Good call...
