Just found it on OSNews.com, its called "CRUX Linux" and its focus is to "keep it simple". The PPC version was released yesterday (10/3/03).

Wouldn't just using slackware or debian with a minimal install do the same thing?

It compares rather to Gentoo as it is in general compiling its packages from the source. The advantage over Debian and Slackware is that the packages are compiled the way you want them, e.g. with optimizations for your CPU and the optional flags you selected (e.g. --use-qt, --use-X).

Does anyone know if that one supports installation on XFS systems? I used to install Gentoo with that option, but unfortunately Gentoo doesn't support XFS any more.

Stink different.
