Ok heres the situation: i have a newworld computer 400 mhz g4 700 mb ram 80 gb/10gb
I want to put yellowdog on the 10 gig drive. I all formated my entire disk recently to have panther/yellowodg
Heres the problem : I boot using c
I got to the text interface.
I do enter to have the default gui installer.
It says kernel failed something like this. Mm????
Do i need to clear my 10 gb disk before and prepare it for unix file system??? Help me plz im having an hard time with yellow dog 3.0. THank you

I've been having this same problem. I just kept restarting until it finally booted into the installer, and then I installed the software.

However, now it kernel panics on boot every time. I haven't even been able to boot into it for the first time.

I'm interested to hear any help as well.
chown -R us:us yourbase

might try passing a few options at the kernel at boot. when you have to hit enter to boot the kernel off the cd, type this:

linux -nonfb
