Dreamweaver MX 2004 doesn't work with Panther?

When starting Dreamweaver MX 2004 Trial Dreamweaver asks for admin privileges (system.privilege.admin). When entering the password for the admin-account, Dreamweaver asks again, and again, and again, for admin privileges. Until the cancel buttom is hit and then the app quits.
Enabling the root-account and logging in and running Dreamweaver MX 2004 as root doesn't help much. The request for admin privileges doesn't pop up, but Dreamweaver won't start. It seems like it is doing nothing for a while, and then quits. The splash-screen never appears.
This have been tested on 2 different installs of panther. 7B74 and 7B85.
Dreamweaver MX seems to work though.
Any ideas what's wrong, and maybe an idea for a solution?

Might have something to do with the product activation and the MM daemon thinggie. Just a guess. I kinda hope thats the case because its just one more reason why the whole idea is retarded.

For the record, Flash MX 2004 doesn't launch or work under Panther either.

Yeah, I did read that build 7B92c fixes this problem so hopefully we'll be ready to go once 10.3 ships.

Actually, my copy of Flash MX 2004 Pro works perfectly in Panther. So does Dreamweaver.

My copy of Macromedia Studio MX 2004 works perfectly under Panther. I have been using Dreamweaver MX 2004 and Flash MX 2004 for the past few nights with no ill effects. And just for good measure I opened Fireworks MX and I didn't get any error messages. This might just be with the trial version though. I have the full version and I am using the final version of 10.3.

iDriveX - how are you finding 2004 under Panther? Do the performance horror stories I've been reading elsewhere re: DW and FW hold true even under 10.3?

I am having the same problem with installation.
I guess if you installed it under Jaguar you are fine.
Macromedia's Fault for using a crap installer.

I installed it under Panther with no hiccups. Worked perfectly fine.

Dreamweaver MX 2004 is mind-numbingly slow. I clicked on one 2x1 table and it took it about 3-5 seconds to actually respond by showing that it was clicked, and then I pressed the delete key and it took it about 5-7 seconds to actually delete the table. I am on a Rev. A 12" PowerBook G4 with no other apps open. Dreamweaver is a great product, with a great ease of use. I switched from GoLive because of the incessant unexpectant quits. It's a shame to see a great product because so slow, but hey atleast there are new cutsie icons

Try totaly disabling your iDisk, it looks like the installer (at least in DW MX) tries to search the online version for previous versions of Dreamweaver.
Clever Macromedia.
