Previously `mplayer' always worked! and now one day I tried it and it didn't, and still doesn't work, hmmm...

This is what happens:

1. I launch the `mplayer'
2. The movie plays fine
3. I hit COMMAND-F for full screen
4. The movie... well... instead of movie I see black screen... that sometimes at some part of the screen flash part of the movie...
5. Besides, the movie is not scaled properly [for my TiBook].

The GUI version of `mplayer' works just fine though. I reinstalled [completely?] `mplayer' and it's still the same

Anyone?

where did you get mplayer from? If all you want to do is use the command line version, and the GUI version is working correctly, why don't you just use the mplayer binary included in the bundle of the GUI version?

pat's got a point: The binary that the GUI Mplayer uses is located inside MplayerOSX application at: /Applications/MPlayer OS X 2.app/Contents/Resources/mplayer.app/Contents/MacOS

Run it from the command line like you'd run the manually installed mplayer.

It doesn't scale correctly. It fills the WHOLE screen, but it shouldn't.

I think that's probably a problem with the way the movie was encoded...? I'm not a video/audiophile so I'm not sure about that one.

If the Applescript GUI version of mplayer works for you, you should use that.
