Although a great feature built into the Mail Client of OS X the anti-junk mail feature isn't strong enough. Does anyone have an add-on program to help eliminate this spam? I will hand it to Apple, it is catching a lot of the spam, but still alot gets through. I realize these spam loosers always have ways to get past filters, but it is getting crazy. Do I have to delete my mail account to finally be rid of this stuff?

Do you have it in training mode?
Mail --> Junk Mail --> Training

If you have junk mail getting through, put it in training mode and click the "Junk" button in the Preview pane every time you get junk. The filter will improve.

After a while, when it gets accurate, you can switch to Automatic mode.

Did I mention I was a Mac newbie? No, it wasn't in training mode, but it is now! I guess all the spam I marked as junk previous didn't make a difference. Thanks for the help.

The only difference between 'Automatic' and 'Training' mode is whether or not the mail is automatically moved to a 'Junk' folder. Mail learns from your junking in either mode.

What the person above said is true. Mail continues to learn about junk in all modes. So you can keep it on Automatic mode, and then just hit the Junk button when you find junk mail that slips through.

That's the only difference between the two modes? Then I've learned something today.
