I just noticed that all the icons to the Right of the Help icon in the OS X finder menu bar, have disappeared. This includes the clock, modem, displays, etc. The only things left are the Norton Quickmenu which installed when I installed Norton SystemWorks and the icon for WeatherPop which has been on my computer for months. This began when I upgraded my Stuffit Deluxe from v. 7.x to v.8. Tried removing the Norton and Stuffit stuff, but nothing changed.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Hi!

Do you happen to have Panther on a second partition? This seems (sporadically) keep the menu items from starting, just like some documents are kept from opening, because the system tries to open them with a Panther version of an application. For me they sometimes work after a reboot, or you might try to unmount the Panther partition and then try to start the menu items manually.

This dissappearing act for the icons is still happening to me...It all started ever since the original 10.2.8 update....then when updated to the newest build of 10.2.8 I thought that it had went away with the other pesky problems....But no...its back....especially when on Battery power and comming back to my desk and plugging in....don't know why and gets annoying to have to go back into Prefs to reset all settings to show what I need in the menu bar such as the airport and the volume and the display and the battery readouts....

oh well...at least the battery is back to normal...hehe

help if anyone knows how to fix this...
