What is this polar bear in my menubar?

At this mac lab, there are all of a sudden polar bears on the right side of the clock in the menubar. Anyone know what this is? Nothing was in the prefs or Apps folders about it.

I tried, but they disabled taking screenshots. I'm only on a acct with no access.

if it's a standard menu extra you might be able to remove it. Hold command and try to click-drag the bear off.

I was actaully thinking it might be something like that, after all, it's a public computer lab, and you can install programs, even though you have no other access. Plus, its easy to get root on it.
