HI,

I am a student at CSUN and each of the engineering and comp sci students are assigned a remote telnet drive stored on the campus main server. When working on a PC this drive is automatically mounted as a network drive and functions like any other drive (can run programs and save edited files live). Now on a Mac I am not sure how to do this. Everytime I make a change to a file I have to upload it to the telnet drive. This can be a paint sometimes.

Is there a script or can I make a script that runs during login to mount the drive in finder?

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

I assume you mean the name of the drive is called "telnet" because there's no such thing as a telnet drive.

It's most likely a samba drive in which case you should be able to browse the windows network. Or if you know the ip of the computer it's mounting (you can find out by right clicking on the drive and doing properties) then just go to the Go menu in OS X and use connect to server. Type SMB://SERVERNAME/drivename

No Such kind of drive - it may be an SMB share or an NFS share.

Either way - you can connect to it once - then make an alias of the mounted directory - then put that alias into your login-items.

Or if that doesn't work, you can write a script that mounts the drive - then put that in your log-in items.
