Greetings all!

Due to my recent unemployment, I have a lot of free time on my hands. I hacked up the source code from Apple.com and have created a bit on html that will display the Panther Count Down on the desktop. (Requires WebDesktop a free app. Click on the link to download).

Panther Countdown

I have modified the source to display the countdown centered on a PB 15" display. You will probably want to modify it if you don't like the position. I'm sure there is a better way to do this but I'm not sure how so I just did a quick and dirty hardcoding job.

Save this file, then download WebDesktop, start it and enter the location where you saved the file in the "Open Location..." field. Under preferences set "Refresh" to "never".

Update: If you use the Finder to hide all, then you will need to click on the WebDesktop Dock icon to redisplay the count down. Hey, it's free.

I wonder if someone could make this into a Konfabulator widget? That would be a better way to go, as it is a background app that doesn't take up space in the dock and it doesn't get hidden if you say "hide all" from the Finder. Just a thought.
